Welcome to Maurice — your personal AI researcher. Here's how to get up and running.
Creating your account
Sign up at maurcie.com with your email or continue with Google. No credit card required to get started — your Free plan is active immediately.
Your first workspace
A workspace is where your documents and your AI assistant live together. Think of it as a room where your files and your research partner both hang out.
To create one:
- Log in and click New Workspace
- Give it a name (e.g. "Client Research" or "Product Docs")
- Upload your first document — Maurice will read it and give you an instant AI overview of what's inside
- Start chatting, or set up your personality first
Uploading documents
Maurice supports:
- PDF (

As soon as a document is processed, Maurice generates a quick AI summary of its contents — so you know what your assistant has learned before you start asking questions.
File size limits: 10MB per file (Free plan: 500KB per file).
Giving your AI a personality
This is the fun part.
In your workspace settings, you can give your assistant a name and a personality prompt — a short description of how it should speak, think, and behave.
Some ideas to get you started:

You can change the personality anytime. Your documents stay the same — only the voice changes.
Chatting with your documents
Open a workspace, type your question, and Maurice will search across all your documents to find the answer. You can ask anything — summaries, comparisons, specific facts, follow-up questions. Maurice remembers the conversation as you go.
Start a new thread any time by clicking New Chat.
Embedding your AI
Every workspace includes a ready-to-use embed code.
To get yours:
- Open a workspace
- Go to Settings → Embed
- Copy the generated code snippet
- Paste it into any webpage, help center, client portal, or internal tool
Your AI assistant — with its personality and document knowledge intact — will appear anywhere you embed it. No developer setup required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make my AI sound like my brand?
Absolutely. Write a personality prompt that describes your brand's tone and style — or upload a tone-of-voice guide as one of your documents and reference it in the prompt.
What's the document overview feature?
When you upload a file, Maurice automatically reads it and gives you a plain-language summary of what's inside — key topics, main points, what your AI now knows. It's like a briefing before the conversation starts.
How does the embed code work?
Each workspace generates a unique code snippet. Paste it into any HTML page and your assistant appears as a chat widget. It uses the same personality and document knowledge you configured in Maurice.
Can I have different personalities for different workspaces?
Yes. Each workspace is its own assistant with its own documents and personality. You could have Professor Morgan handling your research library and Stan handling your trade client portal — both running from the same Maurice account.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your documents are stored securely, only accessible to you. Maurice does not use your content to train any shared models.
Can I change my AI's personality later?
Anytime. Update the name and personality prompt in workspace settings — your documents and conversation history stay intact.
